2027 SCOTT Spark RC Team Mountain Bike
Premium Cross-Country Performance at an Approachable Price
The 2027 SCOTT Spark RC Team brings high-level cross-country performance to riders looking for a fast, responsive and highly capable full-suspension mountain bike.
Built around SCOTT’s updated Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 frame, the Spark RC Team has been developed to create a seamless connection between rider and terrain. Its revised frame design and refined riding dynamics are intended to deliver an effective balance of speed, agility and stability across technical singletrack, demanding climbs and fast cross-country trails.
Developed in collaboration with SCOTT’s professional team riders, the Spark RC platform turns rider effort into forward momentum while maintaining the grip, control and predictability needed for modern cross-country and marathon riding.
Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 Frame
At the heart of the Spark RC Team is SCOTT’s updated Spark RC HMF Carbon Gen5 frame.
The HMF carbon layup and revised geometry have been designed to balance lightweight efficiency with stiffness, long-term reliability and confident handling. Rather than simply pursuing the lowest possible frame weight, SCOTT has focused on meaningful weight distribution and structural performance.
Carefully controlled lateral, vertical and torsional flex work together across the frame to enhance grip, line control and efficiency. The result is a bike designed to feel responsive, stable and predictable across a wide variety of terrain.
The frame also features an adjustable head angle, fork lock, BSA bottom bracket, UDH interface and 12x148mm Boost rear spacing with a 55mm chainline.
Low and Centralised Shock Position
The Spark RC frame uses an optimised layout that positions the rear shock as low as possible within the chassis.
Centralising the bike’s mass and keeping it low in the frame helps improve stability, cornering precision and overall control. This positioning also allows carbon material to be used more efficiently throughout the frame structure.
The integrated design contributes to the Spark RC Team’s clean appearance while supporting the responsive and controlled riding characteristics of the platform.
120mm RockShox Suspension
The Spark RC Team is equipped with 120mm of suspension travel at both the front and rear, providing the control and capability required for modern cross-country riding.
At the front, the bike uses a RockShox SID 3P Air fork with a Rush RL three-position damper, adjustable rebound and lockout.
The rear suspension is controlled by a RockShox SIDLuxe Select+ shock featuring Solo Air, adjustable rebound and three selectable settings:
This lightweight suspension combination is designed to maintain efficiency when climbing and accelerating while providing grip and control when the trail becomes rough or unpredictable.
SCOTT TwinLoc Technology
SCOTT’s TwinLoc Technology gives riders convenient control over the bike’s suspension and dropper post from the handlebar.
The remote system provides access to three suspension modes, allowing the rider to adjust the bike quickly as the terrain changes. This makes it possible to prioritise pedalling efficiency on smoother sections while opening the suspension for increased grip and control on technical terrain.
The system integrates suspension and dropper-post control into one practical remote arrangement.
SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS Transmission
Wireless electronic shifting is provided by the SRAM S1000 Eagle AXS Transmission 12-speed drivetrain.
The wireless rear derailleur is operated through a SRAM AXS Pod Controller, providing a clean and straightforward shifting system. A SRAM Eagle 70 Transmission crankset with a 34-tooth chainring is paired with a wide-range 10–52T SRAM Eagle XS-1270 cassette.
The drivetrain has been selected to deliver dependable and efficient performance across steep climbs, fast singletrack and varied cross-country terrain.
A Spark RC Gen5 chain guide is also fitted to help keep the drivetrain secure on rough sections.
SRAM DB6 Four-Piston Brakes
The Spark RC Team uses SRAM DB6 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes.
A 180mm SRAM Centerline rotor is fitted at the front, while the rear uses a 160mm Centerline rotor. This arrangement provides dependable braking performance for controlling speed on technical descents, corners and changing trail surfaces.
Syncros Silverton AL2 Wheels
The bike rolls on Syncros Silverton AL2 wheels with 30mm-wide tubeless-ready alloy rims.
The wheelset uses 28 spokes, Boost hub spacing and a Shimano HG freehub driver. The wider 30mm rim profile provides suitable support for the high-volume 2.4-inch tyres fitted to the Spark RC Team.
The tubeless-ready design also gives riders the option to convert the wheels to a tubeless setup.
Maxxis Aspen 29 x 2.4-Inch Tyres
The Spark RC Team is fitted with Maxxis Aspen 29 x 2.4-inch tyres at the front and rear.
The tyres feature:
- 120 TPI casing
- Foldable bead
- Tubeless-ready construction
- EXO protection
The 2.4-inch tyre width complements the bike’s modern cross-country design, providing a larger contact patch for grip and control while retaining the fast-rolling characteristics associated with the Maxxis Aspen.
Integrated Syncros Cockpit
A Syncros IC-M100-AL2 integrated alloy cockpit provides a clean and purposeful front end.
The cockpit has a 740mm width, seven-degree backsweep and negative ten-degree angle. Cable routing is managed through the Syncros Octopus Cable Integration System Gen2.
Each cable enters its own dedicated colour-coded duct through the headset before being routed securely through the frame. This helps create a clean finish while making installation and servicing more intuitive.
Syncros Dropper Post
The Spark RC Team is fitted with a Syncros SP-M100-AL2 dropper post.
The updated Spark RC platform has been designed to allow extensive dropper-post insertion. Every frame size can accommodate at least a 150mm dropper, while larger frame sizes can support posts with up to 200mm of travel.
This allows riders to lower their centre of gravity, move more freely around the bike and improve balance and control on technical descents.
Improved Suspension Access and Serviceability
The Spark RC frame has been designed to make suspension setup and servicing more straightforward.
Magnetic and clipped frame covers provide access to the rear shock and internal frame area. These covers are sealed to help protect the suspension from dirt and water, while a large drainage hole allows accumulated moisture to leave the frame.
The bike also includes an easy-to-use sag and travel indicator to assist with suspension setup.
Full XC Shock Compatibility
Although the Spark RC Team is supplied with suspension specifically selected and tuned for the platform, the frame is also compatible with standard cross-country rear shocks.
This gives riders additional flexibility when servicing, replacing or upgrading the rear suspension and avoids restricting the bike to one proprietary shock design.
Durable Double-Sealed Bearings
The Spark RC Team’s HMF frame uses larger double-sealed stainless-steel bearings.
These bearings are intended to maintain smooth suspension performance for longer while reducing maintenance requirements, helping riders spend more time riding and less time servicing the bike.
Practical Integrated Equipment
The bike includes a Syncros Tool and SRAM AXS Powerpack.
The Syncros XC Lock-On grips are also prepared for optional tubeless plug-kit storage, allowing essential repair equipment to be integrated neatly into the bike.
